PIERCING IS THE MOMENT
AFTERCARE IS THE COMMITMENT
STEP BY STEP
STEP 1
Spray piercing with a sterile saline solution only once a day or let warm shower water run on it to soften any hard buildup
STEP 2
If there is still buildup present after spraying or showering, GENTLY remove it with a damp qtip or paper towel.
STEP 3
DRY around the piercing with a qtip or paper towel. Make sure to thoroughly dry behind the ear and in all the ear's nooks and crannies or moisture bumps can occur.
WHAT TO EXPECT
-
Redness, soreness, swelling, bruising
-
The secretion of a clear, white, or pale yellow fluid
-
Dry "crusties" yellow in color forming around the piercing
-
On and off minor bleeding for the first few days
HELPFUL TIPS
-
Do not apply soap, ice, hydrogen peroxide, bactine, antiseptic products, ointments, or tea tree oil
-
Do not twist, rotate, or push jewelry back and forth. This excess movement prevents healing
-
Do not submerge piercing in natural bodies of water for 8-12 weeks. This can cause infection
-
Keep piercing site free of makeup, skin cleansers, oils, lotions, and ointments until healed
-
Stress, recreational drug use, and excessive nicotine and/or alcohol slows your bodies healing
-
Wait 6-9 months to change jewelry on your own
-
It is always best to have your jewelry changed by a professional here to avoid damage.

DOWNSIZING
When a piercing is first performed, swelling is normal so we accommodate that by using longer jewelry. Once the swelling goes away there will be extra space on the jewelry. That extra length can get snagged causing irritation, angle changes, and bumps. This is why it is important to return in the specific timeframe you are provided and have a perfectly fitting piece of jewelry installed. Not all piercings will need a downsize, and different piercing's swelling will dissipate at different times.
